Tesamorelin is a synthetic stabilized analog of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH, also known as somatorelin). It is modified by adding an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoic acid group, which confers strong resistance against enzymatic degradation by proteases, greatly extending its half-life in biological systems compared to endogenous GHRH. This structural modification makes it an essential research reagent for neuroendocrine and growth hormone axis related preclinical studies.
As a GHRH receptor agonist, Tesamorelin selectively binds to GHRH receptors on somatotroph cells within the anterior pituitary gland, stimulating the pulsatile secretion of endogenous growth hormone and subsequent production of IGF-1. Unlike GHRP peptides that work through the ghrelin receptor pathway, Tesamorelin mimics the natural upstream regulation mechanism of GH release. It is widely used in laboratory research investigating body composition, visceral fat metabolism, endocrine homeostasis, bone turnover and cellular growth signaling. Preclinical research also focuses on its effects on adipose tissue reduction, connective tissue remodeling and the regulation of insulin-like growth factor pathways.
Our Tesamorelin peptide is produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). After chain assembly, cleavage and deprotection, the crude peptide is purified by preparative HPLC to remove truncated peptide fragments, residual protecting groups and related impurities. Each batch undergoes mass spectrometry (MS) to confirm molecular identity, and HPLC testing to verify purity. Additional QC tests include moisture content, residual solvent, heavy metal and microbial limit inspection. COA documents including HPLC chromatogram and MS spectrum are available per batch upon request. The lyophilized powder format preserves peptide stability during shipping and long-term cold storage. After reconstitution, the peptide solution should be aliquoted promptly. Short-term storage at 2–8°C, long-term storage at -20°C. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles will trigger peptide degradation and aggregation and must be avoided.
