Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone, consisting of two non-covalently linked subunits: an alpha subunit which is shared with LH, FSH and TSH, and a unique beta subunit that confers biological specificity to HCG. The recombinant HCG offered here is expressed and purified from eukaryotic expression systems, retaining the native three-dimensional conformation and biological activity of natural human HCG, making it a critical reagent for endocrinology and reproductive biology preclinical research.
In laboratory research, HCG functions as an agonist of the luteinizing hormone receptor (LH-R). It binds to LH receptors on target cells and activates downstream adenylate cyclase signaling cascades. Classic research applications include the induction of ovulation in animal models, stimulation of Leydig cells in testis tissue to promote testosterone biosynthesis, and investigation of corpus luteum maintenance mechanisms. Researchers also employ HCG to explore gonadal hormone regulation, cell proliferation, signal transduction, and metabolic changes triggered by sex hormone fluctuations. It is widely used in reproductive physiology, hormone receptor interaction and related in-vitro cell assay studies.
Our recombinant HCG is produced through eukaryotic expression, followed by multi-step chromatographic purification including ion exchange chromatography and size exclusion chromatography to remove host cell proteins, endotoxin and aggregates. Each batch undergoes strict quality control. Identity confirmation is performed via Western blot and mass spectrometry; purity is determined by HPLC and SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level, moisture content and microbial limit are also tested. A full COA including test reports is available for each lot. The lyophilized formulation stabilizes the protein structure during transportation and long-term cold storage. Once reconstituted, aliquot the protein solution immediately. Short-term storage can be kept at 2–8°C, while long-term preservation requires -20°C. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles will cause protein denaturation and activity loss and must be avoided.
